After all these years I’m still captivated by birth! Still utterly in awe. That a fetus, existing in a sack of amniotic fluid, will transform itself into a baby at the moment of its birth, complete with all of its baby cuteness, seducing us in total love . . . You would think after 35 years in the birthing business that I would be kinda use to it by now. Nope, hasn’t happened and I don’t think it ever will.
I’ve been privileged to witness miracle after miracle, day in and day out. Miracles that never get old because they are forever new! No matter how contrived that may sound.
Equally as captivating and just as miraculous is witnessing the transformation of women into mothers. Part of a midwife’s craft is being able to guide women towards taking hold of their roles as mothers an opportunity for growth, self-awareness and mastery.
Soooo. . . not long ago, I had the idea to help women transform even further. A midwife for life so to speak, to birth her dreams. . . to take her from where she was to where she wants to be. I loved my idea and trusted my passion.
It’s my nature to be prepared. I read books on coaching, attended workshops and anything I could get my hands on that inspired me about coaching.
I was searching for tools and a method that had the qualities that I believed produces long-lasting transformation and happiness. Frustrated I shelved the idea for two years years, but the desire still burned in my heart.
Elizabeth Gilbert says in her book Big Magic, “Trust in the miraculous truth that new and marvelous ideas are looking for human collaborators every single day. Ideas of every kind are constantly galloping toward us, constantly passing through us, constantly trying to get our attention. Let them know you’re available.”
One morning while reading Debra’s Blog post, I was introduced to Dr. Eve Agee and her Transform Coaching Academy (TCA). Her name danced off the page, or maybe it was I who was dancing! I missed her free Webinar, but I knew she was to be my teacher.
TCA was exactly what I wanted and I signed up. Eve’s class were so much more than I ever expected; weekly classes recorded for further study, an amazing textbook, numerous practice sessions mentored by Eve, a partnership program for even more one on one practice.
TCA’s course content satisfies the Core Competencies required to become certified. Since I completed the course 2 years ago, I have had the opportunity to join a mentors circle. I went on a live retreat in the mountains, meeting many of my classmates from all over the world!
I am thrilled to be part of this wonderful group of coaches and honored to offer my experience as a midwife and my exceptional training from Eve’s Transform Coaching Academy to help women birth . . . a new, slightly different kind of baby!
